NASM Certified Personal Trainer

What’s up everyone!? My name is Seth and I’m a NASM certified personal trainer. Wow…that sounds boring. Anyway, I’ve been doing this whole fitness as my job thing for about 4 years now, and I’ve gotta say it’s the best thing to ever happen to me.

Let’s go back about 6 years, and figure out why I’m doing what I’m doing. I grew up in a tiny town, in Illinois, that no one’s ever heard of surrounded by cornfields. In a town like that there isn’t much to do, so I played a lot of basketball. The problem is I was short, slow, and a little chubby…not a great combo for a high school basketball player. I started working out, because I knew if I could be fast and strong that would give me a far better chance to play on the varsity squad. Long story short, between my junior and senior year I went from riding the bench unless we were losing by 30, to starting. Being able to see how much I could change physically and mentally just from fitness blew my mind. So when I graduated, I started working out religiously and I all but lived at my local gym.

At this point in my life, I was 19, working full time at a garage door factory, and I knew absolutely nothing about what I wanted to do with my life. I was working out every day, and in preparation for my first NPC Physique Show. I had a girl come up to me and ask if I would train her, I had no idea what I was doing, I told her that. And her response was “That’s ok you look good so we will figure it out.” After 6 months of training her, competing in 2 Physique shows, and wanting to beat my head into a wall every time I walked in the factory for work in the morning…something clicked.

Seeing her change emotionally, mentally, and physically, all because of us training together really made realize that what I wanted to do with my life was help people.

So began the journey that brought me to Austin, Texas. I had no idea what I was doing, or how I was going to make a career at the time. But I knew that helping people improve their lives was the most fulfilling experience I had ever been apart of, and I wanted to do that all of the time.

So here I am Austin. You beautiful city. Ready to help in any way I can, and dance the whole way.
(ps I’m not that good at dancing, but if we personal train together or you take my bootcamps, it’s a GUARANTEE I will be dancing)
