Bootcamp Coach & Personal Trainer
I was born and raised in Tulsa, Oklahoma and grew up playing outside in the country. Sports were a huge part of my life as a kid. When I reached high school, I began weight training and soon found powerlifting as my sport of choice. This would grow to be my foundation for what is now my career, but not after spending many years in the restaurant industry. After high school, I graduated from Oklahoma State University, with a degree in hospitality, which led me into restaurant management. While staying in “decent” shape as a restaurant manager, in 2013 I decided I really wanted to get back into fitness which had been such a big part of my life growing up. I dedicated my time and energy to getting back in shape, which quickly led into the immense passion I have for fitness to this day.
At the time I was working out in the morning before work and going back again at night. It didn’t take long to realize after all this time I was spending in the gym, helping other people as well, that I should get certified as a personal trainer and turn my hobby into a career. In 2014, I was certified with NASM and began training clients before and after work for about a year. In 2015 I packed up and moved to Washington, DC to continue my career as a personal trainer and give up on the restaurant lifestyle. This turned out to be the best decision I ever made. I was thirsty for new information, new training styles, the best nutrition programs, how to move the best, and overall how to become the best athlete I can be.
While living in DC, I began attending HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training) classes and loved what they did for my overall fitness. Soon after I started , I began to coach and loved how dynamic and energetic group fitness was. I myself loved the community and made many friends while also pushing myself to new limits outside of my comfort zone.
In May 2019 my girlfriend and I decided it was time for a change of pace and made our move down to Austin. We love the food and fitness Austin has to offer and decided this would be the perfect spot for us. Since moving here in May we both have hit several new PRs in the gym, but honestly the number one highlight by far has been becoming “pawrents” to our mini dachshund, Squat. When I am not at the gym or eating, I more than likely hanging out with our pup.
I am looking forward to getting to know all of our athletes at E + E and helping them get the most out of their health and fitness!
